went to the Thyssen Museum in Madrid twice this week
the first time i went alone cause i wanted to see a cool temporary exhibition and the second time, i went with a friend from uni. she invited me to see the same exhibition id seen last day but i accepted cause i felt bad if she’d gone alone. so i saw the same paintings twice.
it was great to see it again and to see things i missed the first time but it got a bit boring tbh.
then we went and saw the permanent collection, which i had seen already 3 times at least, but she didn’t, so i accompanied her. lastly and thankfully, we saw some new pieces that were exhibited that i hadn’t seen before so at least that’s that.
by reading this you can tell i wasn’t planning on going twice to this museum but i couldn’t say no to her really and i had nothing better to do anyways.

i love checking up on my favorite works like they’re my good friends. i curate the music for museum trip and i get to look at the other museum goers like they’re a part of the museum (because they are!)

went to the art museum alone the other day and i was able to spend as much time as i wanted reading about the pieces and artists i was interested in instead of rushing through it to keep up with a buddy - im a slow reader lol

i went to the met alone a few days ago and it was so wonderful. not having anyone with me allows me the luxury of spending as long as i want in an exhibit or at an artwork. no rushing from my impatient family or fear of inconveniencing them by spending 5 minutes at one painting. it was just me and my music, so peaceful. i’m definitely doing it again.
