Currently obsessed with this British rock group from the 80’s. Can’t believe I’ve just now discovered this group.

Not just from the 80s! Martin is still kicking and putting on great/intimate if somewhat random gigs (mostly solo, alas) peppered with bad jokes and poetry. Saw him in a North London church last month.

ginko888 I was once introduced to him as being from Brooklyn and he couldn't figure out how to get away from me fast enough lol... so I wouldn't count on it. Admittedly this was at a Sunday afternoon community fair in small-town estuary Essex so maybe he thought I was a crazy stalker or worse, an A&R guy

ginko888 Yeah dude is kinda the ultimate townie, but follow him on IG for the random Colchester-area show announcements. On the plus side you might get to hear the Wivenhoe Bells in person

went to a cinema club - this is what it's all about. community is real! even in the city! it's not all over. i watched natural enemies and boxing helena with my friend and ally charlie. the first was awesome, the second was less so - but arguably more fun. sherilyn fenn is not a star, she is something else entirely.

Inspired by 80‘s production, this song feels bigger than itself. End credits of a movie vibe. Reflective of passing youth. In layered, reverb laden vocals he sings “Growing up is never easy…Wrong enough to say I’m sorry. Owning up to things I can’t undo.” It’s great for a drive alone thinking on all the things that’ve passed you by and all that has yet to arrive :)

I love this song sm. Rock n roll love confession. A classic for me. There’s never a lull, with the timing of the back up vocals and guitar licks and the lyrics feel so pronounced they’re unavoidable. No wonder he inspired Elliot Smith. Feels like a 70‘s summer.
