rewatched these recently and theyāre so great. Touching and funny and really striking sets/shots.
Reminded me of how good Wes Anderson is beyond all the memes. I know people clown on some of his tendencies as a director but the guy knows how to make a fuckin movie.

iāve never seen any of wes andersonās movies somehow (aside from mr fox and henry sugar), so i decided to watch them all before the phonecian scheme. and holy fuck. heās amazing. the movies are all so implicit in their message yet so obvious. the characters and their actions are so absurd. the framing and the shots are nothing short of perfect.
life aquatic is my favorite thus far, by far. his others were great too (iām skipping bottle rocket because people say itās best to watch after being familiar with his style), but this oneās atmosphere and characters were just impeccable. maybe itās because itās summer, and maybe itās because love stories can be so trite, but watching a hard-ass struggle with his ego while commanding a boat crew and simultaneously trying to come to terms with being a father is right up my alley. i have a feeling iām not gonna be this big a fan of all of andersonās movies after this one, but iām still so excited. i have high hopes.

Wes Anderson films are just so gorgeous in general, so I'd reccomend just checking out films he's directed.
The colour grading in his films are so amazing!!

Everything he touches turns to solid gold. My new favorite movie is Asteroid City and the one before that was The Grand Budapest Hotel. He is an amazing director and his art direction is some of the most pleasing to the eye I have seen. Love his movies so much and I LOVE WILLEM DAFOE.

Sometimes you can just exist. you donāt (hopefully) need 50 hustles. You donāt need to be a writer and musician and artist and podcaster and influencer and girlboss or whatever. you donāt even need to signal how cool or smart or attractive you are. I know itās hard cause I think our society incentives (forces?) people to be āonā all the time, but itās probably better for your own sake to just exist for yourself and your love ones and to adjust your expectations of what a successful or meaningful life is.
Sorry for being pedantic, just know a lot of friends and family my age or younger that seem to be struggling right now in all sorts of ways. Just know, regardless of what anyone says or even what you say or do, that you guys have inherent dignity and you are worth something

I never had a problem shitting I just like funky foods and pretending my gut is a nightclub where all the bacteria are dancing and having a good time like itās osmosis jones or something
