my two most important young adult coming of age albums. lately i’ve been revisiting some of my older faves in their entirety and these two definitely solidified themselves amongst my top favorite albums. (i think i’ve also been into immunity in excitement for charm)
aside from being one of my favorite albums of all time, this is also one of my favorite album covers of all time. it makes me feel warm and encompassed with love when i look at it. indigo’s mother painted this cover along with the covers of her two subsequent albums as well, but this is the one that has the most special place in my heart…there is something so cozy and earthy about it.
for the longest time i’d been avoiding the music my parents like bc they’re my parents they can’t be Cool or Tasteful so i had avoided fiona apple, the smiths, the cure, descendents, the cranberries, many other 80s 90s indie favs & more. & im finally realizing that hey my parents are real people too & it brings a whole nother level of appreciation for them and for music and for Life
two women next to me on the train are having an insightful heart to heart. a guy behind me is clearly flirting with this girl and you can tell it’s mutual. we all have rich, rich inner lives :)
