Film Forum is the OG but Metrograph is younger and hungrier, with a more diverse slate of films and an emphasis on rediscovered or neglected classics. Great atmosphere too, with a restaurant and bookstore. you can’t go wrong!

I used to think I was above it all but it’s actually very useful to have a go-to. also you can then have a secret favourite colour all to yourself (and a trusted few). and when you pick another colour for something it endows Way more significance
