Went to the atlanta show last minute and was so pleasantly surprised. I knew the crowd would be older but the vibes were perfect. Iāve seen cat power many times before and ive never seen her so happy and in her zone. If any of these artists were remotely the soundtrack to your teens - highly recommend

I went last year with a couple of friends sort of on a whim and hands down one of the best shows Iāve ever been to. Despite loving pop music I havenāt been to a ton of fully pop concerts and to get to see one in a smaller venue and not a huge stadium was such a treat. The theatrics were up there with seeing The Flaming Lips and Of Montreal.

in 2014 at the church my parents got married in. Beautiful seated show in pews, surrounded by stained glass, visuals were circular projections of ink being dropped into milk.
Danny Brown in 2013 at a tiny college gymnasium. My parents wouldnāt let me go to the after party. My mom almost didnāt let me go to the show after she listened to XXX and said to me verbatim one Sunday morning before church: āHave you listened to the lyrics?! āMy dick so big it left stretch marks on her jaw?!?āā
Death Grips in 2015, got punched in the head so hard (by accident) in the pit that I threw up then stayed the night at my friends house in Baltimore before driving 6 hours through rural Pennsylvania the next day to be a counselor at church camp.
Mitski in a small basement venue in 2016 on the night of a comet shower. The first show my husband and I saw together but I had a very unfortunate stomachache, thankfully I could sit down.
Alex G and Porches in 2016 at my favorite now-closed venue. My husband asked him to play āMisā but he said he didnāt really remember it, thankfully the bassist remembered it so they did and it was lovely.
LVL UP at their final tour in 2018 at another small bar venue. Husband requested āBig Snowā and boy did it rip, spicy hot gumbo!
Honorable mention to Sleater Kinney in 2014 because Lizzo opened from them and she threw me a packet of Famous Amos cookies which is just a funny story to retell today and to think about her opening for Sleater Kinney at one point.
Canāt really pick between them, this is mostly a note to self to remind me of some of my favorite live music experiences. 2010ās was a truly great concert era for me.

Cocteau Twins in 1993 or 1994 (with Luna opening) - I was in the 8th grade and my sister who was 14 years older than me took me. We saw Mazzy Star/JaMC and Depeche Mode the next year.

Was inspired by title cards in an almodovar movie a year ago and spent almost that amount of time getting supplies, creating the photo emulsions, developing a screen, and then making actual printsā¦. ive only got these 4 little guys to show for it right now but Iām so proud of myself and I recommend it as a hobby!! Having the time oml in my tiny apt kitchen
