Uncle Otis

One of the few true menswear stores selling quality basics here in Toronto. Buying basics really, truly means you're buying a forever piece. So be intentional! I would recommend going in-store to try things on if you can. Uncle Otis hosts a bunch of smaller brands, so their stuff can get quite expensive. Remember to do your research about materials, manufacturing, sizing and care before you buy.

Boring answer but extremely accessible and available. Its always best to try them on if you can as polos tend to only look good if they fit properly relative to their intended fit (ex: a long tight polo should be tucked in, a boxier polo can be worn untucked etc)

The great Indian cheese toastie

This is what I call it hahahah made by mums everywhere but the greased up version is sold along stalls in Mumbai. Two regular slices of white bread, buttered, and the middle filling is cream cheese with red onions, coriander/cilantro, tomatoes and some minced chillis. All veggies chopped mini cube size so they blend with the cheese. Toasted crispy.
