I love seeing someone doing/wearing/using something and being like "whoa cool" and then copying them, that's how I've found most of my favorite things. A non-exhaustive list of things and sources includes:
• Drinking coffee out of glass mugs with milk and sugar (Jeanne Dielman)
• L'Occitane lavender hand cream (my friend Louie)
• Mini bottles of sparkling mineral water at home instead of big ones (the bad guy in the Claire Denis movie Bastards)
• Being gay (my mother)
• Jazz fusion (my father)
I love when I gush about things or repeatedly point things out enough that my friends send me pictures or pick things off the shelves to show me what they think I would like (frogs and monkeys).
the feeling i get after finishing a really good movie or finding a new artist to love finding joy and inspiration in the achievements of my friends and family, and knowing that they're proud of me like i am proud of them
People in your life who don't pressure you to text or call them all that often and vice verse. Such a relief through the web of constant pressure I feel to keep up with people due to social media. Like nah it's cool if you don't text me that same day, we got lives to live buddy, I'll see ya when I see ya.
Although not horror in it's traditional sense, the dystopic and serious nature of the rules set in this black comedy movie are beyond horrific. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I saw it a couple of weeks ago. It's an insane watch.
