im too busy to be in a relationship right now so i’ve been going on solo dates and i love it soo much i just read and enjoy a drink & great meal 😌 it’s a splurge but worth it!!! the book i’m reading is a decolonial feminism and this month i went to a restaurant that only serves sustainable seafood (normally i don’t have fish bc of enviro impact so this was cool! sadly tho they did not give me a paper straw option)
I’ve always been a big fan of doing things alone, and this is literally what I go do when I’m able to get time away from my kids lol being alone is a rare and hot commodity in my life rn!!
I've just started doing this! Treated myself to hot pot and listened to an audiobook. Got a couple stares but I'm sure that weird feeling will go away after a while. so happy for us both
thistleleaves i first got into it on a trip to paris bc it’s more normal there than in the US to just sit outside at a cafe w an espresso or full meal, and now i really love doing it!!
i love taking myself out for dinner. im an extrovert, so i truly love spending time with people, but if i don’t take intentional time with myself i’ll lose track of my own thoughts and creativity. at least once a month i schedule a dinner with just me. i usually bring a book, could be a novel or an art book. i always have my journal on me, so i take the time to reflect on the last month of life. i get to just have a conversation with my own thoughts. i always finish my meal inspired and ready to move forward.
I love going out to eat by myself. Especially when it feels like an occassion vs. shoveling some fast casual down during lunch hours. Brunch, candle lit dinners, etc.
being traditionally cool is really quite boring and iterative, and it’s actually very cool and sexy to geek out about something you like or share bits of knowledge on a topic you’re passionate about
