Part of my family is from Córdoba, Argentina, an area characterized by mountains and rivers. Among these rivers, there's one that is literally on top of a mountain, in a very remote place where there is only a small hut belonging to goat farmers. These farmers walk around and feel curious when visitors come by.
One day, we visited this place and had a great time until my brother and I decided to climb to the "top" via a dry stream. We took on our sandals and began to climb the path, which was quite wild and steep. It took us approximately 15-20 minutes to ascend as we moved very slowly in case we encountered a snake or spider. When we reached the top, we found a clearing with many small caves. This clearing was full of bones. My brother and I were surprised and started exploring the caves.
It didn't take long before we heard a roar. My brother and I looked at each other, then looked back and saw a giant puma. What did we do as city kids? We ran so fast that in less than 5 minutes, we descended that dry river (in sandals), shouting "PUMA, PUMA" to my dad (who had already started the car). The funny thing is, the puma followed us for a bit but thankfully, it didn't attack us.
Bonus: Two years later, we returned to the river and climbed the dry stream again, this time with a branch and Crocs. Fortunately, the puma wasn't there (thank God).

I went on hike today with two of my friends. We’re in Arkansas for 2 days and it’s been a good time. I dragged us through the devil’s trails and ran off a few times for moments of solitude. I love being outside, but I am a runner. But I like it because I get to be an alone for a while. sometimes my friends worry but I just like existing solo sometimes. Back to the hole, my friends didn’t want me to go in the hole bc they said I would become one of the dead people. the kind you see on tiktok where they track how the body was crushed when they fell down a too tight hole. I walked past it the first time but I thought about it the whole 20 minutes past it. When we walked back, I ran back to it and went in.
