its 11:02pm and I just took a beautiful drive up the 101. every twist and turn was absolutely riveting. The beauty this coastline oozes is good for the soul.

and waking up by the ocean to a thick fog morning. one of my favorite parts of my road trip, partly because it felt like we were getting away with something big ($1k fine if you’re caught sleeping at a pull off) and partly because it was only the 3rd of 16 nights car camping up the coast so the novelty hadn’t worn off quite yet.
drive highway 1 with the windows down, go to carmel beach and let the wind run through your hair, when you leave you will smell like salt and eucalyptus. stop through big sur and smell the trees and the air.
