Birdwatching came to me at a difficult time in my life, and a time where I was trying on lots of different hats to see what matched sobriety. One of those hats was that of someone who takes film photographs. I took this at a park by the sea with my mam, sister and dog. I was throwing bits of my sandwich in the air to try and attract the gulls, snapping away, not really very sure whether I was using the camera properly. I was in awe of myself when this photo came back, I love it. I don’t really take film photos much now — the hat didn’t fit right and was out of my budget, but this photo helped to develop my love of birdwatching. Now I just take blurry iphone shots through my binoculars, but I still have that awe. I love birds <3

We’ve all got some pretty decent zooms on our phone cameras, why not put them to use.

app made by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. great way to identify birds by taking a photo, sound recording, or answering a few basic questions about what bird you see. Here are some I’ve identified! The great horned owl was a from sound recording in the middle of the night! v thrilling for me. Gotta catch em all!!!! 🤪

First time I heard this song I was at a bar in Indiana on honky-tonk night. I stopped dead in my tracks and started crying before I could even comprehend why. The band killed it. I can barely take this song, so I only listen to it when the time is right. Gave it a listen today. I love it so much. ♥️
