I think caskeyc did a great job giving a vast list. I just want to sprinkle some additional things for ✨fun✨ and for ✨variety✨ The whole Paraboot catalogue is exceptional, albeit a little pricey. The price is well worth the product though. Peep through their loafers / shoes / boots and I’m sure you’ll fall in love. A brand I’m very excited about right now is Vinny’s and I think everyone should be keeping an eye on them. Relatively new-ish, but already pushing silhouettes that rival companies that have been around for a long time. I think what Sezane is doing with shoes is exciting. Some funky things there. Madewell has their own shoes but also carriers other brands; anything they stock they’ve considered versatile enough to wear with their offerings so they’re usually greatly curated. Sneakers are my weak spot. I’d say jump on the Hoka trend for comfort, but you have to accept that you’re going to likely match with a mom in her 50’s that has a MAGA2024 sticker on her minivan. Make peace with that and you’ll be fine. I’ll double recommend the Onitsuka Tiger rec too, just get those asap before they get blown up on Tik Tok, similar to the Sambas of yesterday.

I don't drive so I walk a lot and treat shoe purchases as if I am buying vehicles. I have acknowledged this week that I now have every shoe I will need. I have tried and tested many many many kinds and brands and these are my findings Trainers: - For day to day, city walking etc = Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 (I have walked 15,000 steps in these and felt nothing) - For longer distances, when you need a chunky sole, rain etc = Adidas Astir Sandals: - Clarks (I just got the Alda Cross sandals and wowww) Boots: - Vagabond (beautifully made, comfy, great styles) - Fly London (I wore these for ten hour bartending shifts and they were super comfy) - Skechers (mostly hideous but they have squishy sole walking boots which are peak comfort) Heels: - I have done a lot of research here and the way to find walkable heels is to look for the positioning of the heel. If the heel is directly under the heel of the foot that's good, if it's right at the back that's bad. It's all about the weight distribution. - My favourite nice heels are from Aquazzura, my second favourite are from H&M. Loafers: - Gucci win for both heeled and flat loafers - Marks and Spencers in second place for chunky loafers Slip ons/clogs: - Birkis by Birkenstock - bonus round: I've loved every pair of sliders I've ever met

Just wrote about this two weeks ago! Jacques Soloviere has some really funky options. It’s a love it or hate it situation but I’m obsessed with them right now. Peep their oxfords and loafers. The Paraboot Michael is my personal fav, also love the Chambord — both will last you a lifetime. Morjas has some amazing offerings in both the loafer & shoe department too. All the above mentions + more are in the article. Enjoy!

Ahhh, it’s been a while since a clothing ask has scratched that itch in the back of my head. I think the Vinny’s take on a Mary Jane is 10/10. The black leather (brown looks nice too) + the chunky sole is an easy win. I can’t wait to wear these around with shorts and pink socks peeking through the opening. They also do an incredible Fisherman sandal. I know these might not be for everyone but I’ve seen countless fits with these, including recent PI.FYI guest Aaron Levine, aka the menswear god himself. For the girls, y’all have cool choices that the boys don’t get to have 😔 Look at these Mary Jane’s from Solovair in a gorgeous olive leather. Look at this Fisherman / Mary Jane hybrid from G. H. Bass. And the Sebago Angelina’s that broke the internet seem to be going on sale on some sites. It’s a weird shoe summer™️ and I’m here for it.

florinegrassenhopper riotgrrrl brendanooooo slowdazzle buck_mcgraw and indianjones — we did it. Not only did we successfully meet for drinks, but we also schemed the hostile takeover of this app from tyler tonight. In all seriousness — weird that an app I downloaded in April would make genuinely want to drive back into Brooklyn during end of day traffic for a happy hour. Great app filled with great people.

I feel like there’s a special connectivity on this app that I haven’t felt in a long time, maybe since early 2010’s tumblr. The fact that you can’t promote yourself like IG is wonderful. The fact that there isn’t mass video content like Tik Tok is great. It’s not this monetized / paid sponsorship app. People are here because they want to be a part of something with nothing to gain besides friendship. Seeing the URL -> IRL meetups warms my heart so much (waiting for an NYC or Brooklyn meetup). Thanks for your participation on this niche little app. I smile reading all the recs and all the comments and all the asks. Hope we’ll all be here for a long time.

I think a life rule for me is to surround myself with people who know more / are smarter / are cooler than me and just absorb their aura by listening / observing them. It’s made me the incredibly smart / cool person you all know and love. I just never thought I’d feel the same way about URL friends. I’m constantly listening to the songs I see posted here, reading the articles, subbing to newsletters, and googling topics that get tossed onto the feed. It’s nice to know you can become a more rounded person by just absorbing what your mutuals post on here. I’m going to sit on my couch, have a cocktail and digest my lovely feed. Happy Sunday!
