this is one of the most tragic cancellations in tv history (to me) , a beautifully realized world with characters that were definitely #characters but also so real & full of emotional depth & all while being dramatic & funny & colourful & one of the most sweetly romantic stories i’ve ever experienced . the fact that it was cancelled after its second season right after they had delved more deeply into so many mysteries & the depths of the characters is a tragedy that devastated me when i first watched the whole series .
this is also the first time i was so taken by lee pace (the second was when he smashed up a car in halt & catch fire , another under hyped show that was actually incredible)

So there’s only two seasons. But very twee 2000s show where a young Lee Pace finds he has the power to bring back the dead with a touch! But if he touches them again they are gone forever. He uses this ability to help solve murders while running a pie shop.

📺Lee Pace as an awkward pie maker who can bring people back from the dead for a minute so he can solve their murders is the show premise you never knew you needed.
Also the over-the-top set dressing and tv-trope settings that break said tropes is SO GOOD. Not to mention stellar guest stars.

⏲️it’s the perfect length for me to watch after work , i can start a movie at 11 or even 12 & get to bed at the (mostly) reasonable hour of 1:30 at the latest . sometimes i will extend this to 100 or 110 min if i‘m feeling indulgent or ambitious .
i could watch an hour of tv but this gives me a whole story in only a little bit more time .
