I remember having this on DVD as a kid and I rewatched it for the first time in literally forever last night on Netflix (you have until 7/31 before it’s gone there!)
This movie is a masterpiece. Last night I was so impressed over how well this 22 year old movie holds up. It is impeccably scored and the animation is just beautiful. It is also like perfectly paced and I love that it’s just under 90 minutes.
And omg the visual storytelling???? The themes of freedom and friendship and resilience through adversity and just running wild and free like god intended. Throw in the juxtaposition with westward expansion and settler colonialism and fuckkkkk
They also made the horses way too hot here LMAO

A nostalgic, synthy modern fairy tale shot on 16 mm. It’s about three kids on a journey to get their mom a blueberry pie. Visually pleasing and so so comforting to watch.
I have not enjoyed a movie this much in so long! (Stream it on mubi)

I filed a complaint with a bunch of receipts to my city's rent board last month after my landlord notified me of another increase, and turns out she was in violation of increasing rent within 12 months following a previous rent increase
The city just told my landlord to reimburse me the excess rent, and my current rent must remain in place until next March for her to be in compliance (she wanted to raise it another 10% in October lol)
