There are a thousand and one paintings of the canals, doge's palace, St mark square. But this is the real Venice, this is what you see walking around the streets. Close tie second are any northern Renaissance still life paintings. So photorealistic, so perfect. Shout-out to those saying Klimt, he's the tits. Go see the kiss in person, way more stunning than photos.
hard to pin down a specific one but this is a fav genre of mine in terms of art. I remember visiting the national gallery in DC a while back and being floored by some of the pieces on display. they’re so detailed that it’s almost hyper-real, depicting things with such realism that it’s enhanced. I could spend hours poring over these, and they’re so much better to look at in person. this one I linked is by Church but there’s a ton of great ones by Cole, Bierstadt, and their contemporaries that all rock
If the voice in your head is being too mean ask it if it would talk to someone you love this way. My internal monologue can be a 💩 and this sometimes can help it be more constructive
