sometimes you just have to eat an entire cucumber. slice it, put it in a blender, twist it, shake it, add sesame seeds and some pickled onion. cucumber salad, cucumber soup, cucumber and marinara idc!! your hangover will thank the lords

My favorite spot to go catch a movie, they have retrospectives of the best directors and have an overall wonderfully curated selection of films. It’s run as a film archive as a non-profit, and consists of one very minimal screening room and a small cafe adjacent to it. Just hearing the way my shoes click on the white marble floor will already make me giddy — I’m so glad it reopened. Just before the pandemic caught one of my all time favorite movies, Fellini’s Juliet of the Spirits there, on original restored film.

Film Forum is the OG but Metrograph is younger and hungrier, with a more diverse slate of films and an emphasis on rediscovered or neglected classics. Great atmosphere too, with a restaurant and bookstore. you can’t go wrong!

this is fucking mental magic witchcraft out of this world. it has an alex g sense/feeling, like dean blunt but more upbeat (?) what dreams & childhood would sound like in a song. probably what having a cat purring next to you feels like or falling out of a coconut tree. i’d recommend listening to their song ‘Ef’ first so you can get the vision and then their latest album release
