Electrique Boutique explores minimal synth, cold wave, lo-fi/diy electronic, post-punk, private press, and other leftfield oddities primarily from the late 70s & early 80s (plus music that inspired these and songs that follow in their footsteps all the way to today). I write, record, host, and self-finance every episode. Iāve put countless hours of work and research into my show, and I hope the fruits of my labor are well worth the effort.
This episode, I feature Young Marble Giants, Cleaners From Venus, Cindy Lee, Carla dal Forno, and Lena Platonos among others. Plus transmissions from Scotland, Portugal, Nebraska, and the former Republic of Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo). If youāre in the Seattle area, Iām hosting an 80s dance party at The Black Lodge on June 26th! Masks are required and we will have air filters going. Expect a Paradise Garage/Larry Levan-esque vibe, with disco, house, electro, new wave, leftfield, and other hi-energy gems. This has been literally a multi-year project of mine and Iām so so so so so happy and excited to finally see it come to fruition. Hope to see you there!!!
