I'm recovering from a long injury and absolutely delighted to be running again yesterday I went on a glorious 10K through the rain — was planning to run three miles but just kept going: down a dirt road, through industrial parking lots, through fields, sliding down embankments, by the airport, cloistered neighborhoods, winding narrow roads with minimal shoulders — splashed by roaring trucks, what a thrill!
It feels good it’s like you’re already sweaty so it feels like you crushed it. Recommend listening to Rosalia + Bjork + Olaf Dreijer to get the blood pumping properly.
I was getting off the train and this guy noticed my Van Halen sleeveless tee and was like “cool tank top dude I love Van Halen.” And I was like “thanks man.” And then he was like “do you like Extreme?” (he was wearing a shirt from a band called Extreme). And I said “I’m not too familiar with their music.” And he was like “dude you gotta go listen to their new album, it’s SICK.” And I said “thanks for the rec man” and we fist bumped and it was wholesome. Anyways I got home and listened to Extreme and it wasn’t really my thing.
