I‘ve seen a lot of anime, but Fairy Tail is one of the best in my opinion. It’s a longer anime (~325 episodes) which may deter some people, but it is truly worth the watch. Based in a fantasy world imbedded with magic, the story's main focus is a small group from a wizard guild called Fairy Tail. The adventures they go on always include epic fight scenes, amazing music, and incredible character development. Within the main cast and the supporting characters there is a wide variety of powers and motivations. It’s funny, captivating, intense, and emotional in all the right amounts. It is also one of the few shōnen animes I have seen where the female characters are given the same level of power and influence as their male counterparts. If you are looking for a fantasy and adventure filled anime that you can spend time getting invested in, Fairy Tail is the perfect choice. 💫
the movie for sure and then the 6 volume manga if you’re hooked after that. not only is the animation beautiful, but it’s also hugely influential to sci fi, anime, and film in general.
the story deals with themes of the abuse of power, friendship, loyalty, militarism, and government corruption. it’s a movie that is rewarding upon rewatches as more details become clear. honestly the english dub is great so sub or dub is just a matter of preference for this one imo.
