This is likely due to an inflated ego on my part tbh, but I just really think I could do so well on that show. It’s all manipulation and lying and scheming and good times and socializing and it just seems like an overall fun way to spend the summer.

I’ve been watching Big Brother since I was 9 years old. You watch 15 to 20 people enter a house together, choose the head of household, who then puts two people on the block, and you watch as people lie and scheme and align themselves with others until one person ends up winning half a million dollars at the end. There’s no television show I want to be on more. There are Survivor girls, there are Amazing Race girls, but then there’s Big Brother girls, and we’re just built different. I’ve gotten a lot of people addicted to this. It is buckets and buckets of fun. I would start with season 3. The latest season is really really good.

I’ll be honest, I have the same attention span as that squirrel from Over the Hedge. So if I need an easy background show my first choice is always Big Brother. I fucking love this show, and the classic seasons are some of the best. However, if you’re only looking for the parts that matter they’re whole playlist on Youtube dedicated to hours of the footage you need to catch up on the Big Brother lore.
It goes deep too, some of these winners are like warriors in mythology with how legendary they are. Don’t wanna spoil anything though.

because literally why not? i rarely feel out there enough these days to do any performance-related things, but something about facing odds so incredibly out of your favor really invigorates you. 'cause like, why not?? what if i had a little side quest i could use for 2 Truths and a Lie content in the future??

When I got into college, I had this thing where I would pick a class crush and a class enemy for every class I was enrolled in. It was fun and a way to ensure I was actually going to class and not skipping (to impress your crush you have to say insightful things and seem smart so you keep up with the course reading/to be a good enemy, you have to be well versed in the course reading to make a good counter argument to whatever your enemy is yapping about). It’s always been fun and now as a Ph.D. student finishing up coursework, I am proud to say that I declared what might likely be my last class crush/enemy ever.
This is all to say that recently I have been letting the crush/enemy paradigm bleed out into other aspects of my life and that I’d recommend it to others. If you wanna meet new people or make new friends, find a crush and enemy everywhere you go. Charm the crush, get into an argument with the enemy. It helps pass the time and you might fall into a friends to lovers or enemies to lovers dynamic which is always a good time.

I made the decision to "downgrade" to a flip phone and I genuinely think it is the best decision I've made in a long time. It's weirdly connected me to my inner-child. Which, in retrospect, I reckon I should have expected. The camera quality sucks in the best way, but I carry my Canon camera around too in case I need to capture something more important. I've been calling my friends more because T9 texting is a drag. Haha, I've been texting like "do u wanna c a movie l8er?"
I talk to strangers more when I'm waiting in line, when I can't look something up. I've been writing questions in my journal because I can't look it up in the moment, I have to get onto the computer later in the day and satiate my ever-flighty mind. Don't get me wrong, it sucked at first, but the intrigue absolutely helped. It has just been a fun way to spend the summer I guess. Screen time is down, my boredom has breed creativity, and I feel far more present in the world.
If you've been thinking about trading your smart phone in for a dumb phone, take this as a sign. I recommend it immensely.

Not sure how many other Doctor Who fans are on this site but I always thought the weeping angels were so baller. They hide in plain sight posing as these angel statues, but the moment your eyes are off them they try and get ya. I thought they were so scary as a kid and have a great affinity for them now.
