Look. I don’t know how to explain it but when I tried rewatching alone it felt TOO serious. It felt almost embarrassing. Embarrassing to whom? You tell me! I was home alone. But having an old friend rewatch with you is the perfect strategy. You can comment on the plot, the silly writing, and on how much you wish you didn’t honestly think Dean is funny and hot because you want to not like the show. But it turns out you do. And then when your long distance friend goes home you might just continue watching on your own a little less embarrassed. A little less judgy. And having a little more fun.

it’s time! it’s better than you think it’ll be some times and much much worse at others, but you gotta love the show for all its flaws. makes me think about watching it for the first time in 2020 AND makes me want to wear sunglasses outside and have good posture for some reason. Reid i will love you forever

Because you keep noticing new things, it's comforting, and it's a way of appreciating good art. In a way it's also anti-consumerist. My current favorite rewatch is The Bear.

I love doing this. My bed is for sleeping, but my COUCH? It's for slipping in and out of consciousness while I've got the Great British Baking Show on in the background. Waking up with cats laying on you is a huge plus.
