not even ironic its such a visually stunning movie, one of my favorite scenes was the the one where marlin was caught in a net with thousands of other fishes near the climax of the movie and i vivdly remember seeing all the fish scales in detail in awe, each and every one and it was so gorgeous to me. the way the sea anemones were animated! the way the vastness of the reef was animated! nemo was lowkey my first experience with disability rep onscreen + his disability was eerily similar to mine. means very much to me!
the sound blasting in my ears and watching the Beldam crawl around genuinely made me want to cry. it was my FAVORITE movie as a kid and seeing it in the best way to present media felt like a blessing
so freaking cute. i love movies where it’s a tiny character and you get to see their different little world (like ferngully which is also great if you haven’t seen it) i didnt expect it to also be a commentary on social media and celebrity but that was cool too. music was great. the voice acting was great (how is that jenny slate????). i was hesitant to watch because everyone spoke so highly of it and i didn’t wanna be disappointed, but it’s so worth the hype!
about the 1969 harlem music festival that took place the same summer woodstock did, and has such sick footage of amazing black artists like nina simone, sly & the family stone, bb king, the staples singers, mahalia Jackson, stevie wonder, etc. loved loved loved this and highly recommend!
so so beautiful. first listened to this album back in 2018 and still have most of the songs in the album in my daily rotation. i'm incredibly biased since i love anything devonté hynes produces but this is a true body of work! fav tracks include e.v.p., squash squash, hands up, and best to you.
