The Proper is beautiful, has a sweet view on the roof + a good lobby for working w/ free counter culture coffee in the morning. but..the street it’s on has a pretty extensive encampment going on so you wanna uber in at night. Nikko is fancy and has an indoor pool but felt almost too fancy, like I couldn’t talk in the elevator.
Super clean fairly large rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, great location in the center of LES and also close to the subway. No elevator backup traffic. Not precious enough to be boutique but perhaps the only midrange hotel in Manhattan that doesn't seem grody.
-anywhere with a view or balcony/rooftop access(better if its private/low foot traffic)always good to take a breather and somehow feels intimate to mutually zone out, neither being still nor quiet is a requirement but both make it more enjoyable
-the library, being quiet is a requirement but thats the fun part?
always loved 3 because I’m the 3rd kid in the family, and then my favorite teacher’s classroom in highschool was 323 and it started showing up everywhere
