two of my favorite musicians/bands + playing the same show + in the town i live in + in a park i grew up going to + barricade with my bestie = best concert ever
this was before i was a huge alex g fan so hearing gretel live when i wasn’t really familiar with it kind of changed something in me…i did a voice recording on my phone and i go back and listen to it sometimes…it was incredible. and big thief is always an amazing show no matter what.

Went to see Alex G for the first time with some buddies at a great little (250-cap) venue. Hadn’t heard of Porches. They came on and immediately my ears perked up – one of the very few times I was really grabbed by a band I wasn’t familiar with. The mood was enveloping and softly insisted on your focus. Pool became a 2016 classic for me right after that show!
saw them for the first time in 2019 at a CBC music fest, then after covid in december of 2022, and finally this past summer when they toured with alex g... i love them, they never miss! <3
i have noticed occasionally that some recs are turning into, dare i say, tweet-esque things…i think it’s easy to slip into acting like this is any old social media platform when it is not that; it is a special little place to tell people things you love ❣️🌀
