Billy Joel āĀ For the Longest Time is great if you're doing it with a group of people, but for solo karaoke my rec is still Perfect Day.
a couple weeks ago driving from Vermont back to NYC I was listening to an episode of Theme Time Radio, Bob Dylanās 2000s radio show, and he introduced a song by Lou Reed Iād never heard before. So itās like Bob himself showed me this. Itās a cover of an old American standard but Lou of course makes it his own.
hbd to the greatest
the man might be a bit of a cornball, but this album is a certified classic. 10/10.
no notes, except that āGet It Right the First Timeā doesnāt get the shine it deserves compared to the rest of the track list.
It's just like John Swartzwelder said:
"Since writing is very hard and rewriting is comparatively easy and rather fun, I always write my scripts all the way through as fast as I can, the first day, if possible [ā¦] Then the next day, when I get up, the scriptās been written. Itās lousy, but itās a script. The hard part is done."
