it’s about time i made a website for myself and my work, but i didn’t feel particularly drawn to the templates on wordpress or your run-of-the-mill website makers. i was talking about these frustrations today and my housemate recommended hotglue and i‘m in love with the whole premise of it! it’s really diy and collage-style so it’s great if you’re into that aesthetic and it feels authentic to you. i’m still learning how to use it, but it’s not too hard and i’m someone who usually isn’t super good with tech stuff like this. also i think hotglue is a genius name

I am personally not big on DIY coding and after going through what felt like torture with Wix, Squarespace, and Wordpress I tried Google Sites (which is free) and I found it to be the easiest way to create a simple and functional website that didn’t feel over-designed. It’s definitely won’t deliver a super slick or flashy aesthetic but that’s what I was going for anyways.

hate to say it but it's the OG for a reason. expensive but I think worth it for a really fully featured builder that also lets you mess with CSS easily, and has a lot of portfolio management features specifically which is why i went for it
