this album was recommended to me by a very beautiful new crush of mine recently and it is insanely good. i have always been a yo la tengo fan, and this is just as good as everything else theyโve made. very serene and acoustic but with an undertone of adventure and mystery :>
i love love love the movie Old Joy from Kelly Reichardt, and one of my favorite parts is the sound track. i was pleased to see Yo La Tengo released it on Spotify today :)
very broody, atmospheric, etherial and grimy. vocals are beautiful and raspy when we get them. also, the director of the movie worked on the soundtrack with his band which is cute.
i just watched this film last week and it was instantly a new comfort film for me. the grading, the set design, the story, the wardrobe and THE SCORE! itโs so beautiful and iโm so glad i found bryce dessners solo music thanks to the film. the soundtrack has been on repeat. listening to it feels like a warm hug and it makes me want to sit by the ocean and ponder
the phone thing is kind of an annoying one but it is unfortunately true. gardening is nice cause it makes me feel like i am accountable to something that i need to care for. so like a sort of โtake care of yourself so that you can provide for this small plant who is counting on youโ
it can be any kind of fruit and it can be any body of water for that matter. i have done this in a river waterfall sort of area and it was just as nice! but it needs to be in the water
