it's dirt cheap and shelf stable so you don't have to worry about it expiring ever. all the other meat replacements are trying to taste meaty, which doesn't make any sense. basically, all meat is good for anyway is being a carrier of whatever other thing you add to it. and protein. and tvp is significantly better at both those things. someone's gonna come at me and say it's super processed or whatever, and to that i say: sure, fine, to each their own. some of us want to live deliciously.
