I recently plugged in this Mythical Overdrive, one of my favorite pedals, and heard nothing but a sharp hiss. These Mythical Overdrives are all made by hand and built by their creator, he currently doesnโt offer a repair service. From what I understand these Klon style circuits are pretty simple but I opened the pedal and found an impressive array of transistors, resistors, and parts I canโt begin to understand. I want to become competent enough to repair these kinds of circuits that I rely on so heavily so Iโm beginning a soldering and pedal repair journey. Beyond music, I think itโs important to understand the tools you use well enough to repair them. Iโll document it here, cheers PI.
