This is my baby fig tree, it is already growing a baby fig 🤩 Figs can prosper in Philadelphia, walk the streets of West Philly and you will see them! I got this small tree from the Philadelphia Orchard Project at their annual spring plant sale at The Woodlands (double shout-out)

Many years ago now I had to go to court for reasons too annoying and complicated to delve into but my day took a turn for the better when my friend and I came upon a fig tree laden with fruit overhanging an alleyway. We climbed that thing in our best gear and when we came down covered in sap with our hands and pockets full of figs there was a pissed-looking man waiting for us who held his hand out and gestured in a threatening way for us to give up the spoils. We thought he was the homeowner and very nicely and demurely handed over half our haul. This diva turns around and walks down the street away from the house laughing his head off and says ‘thanks!’
