i feel like i’m just always in the mood for poetry cuz you don’t really have to follow a plot so i don’t feel rushed to read it fast and retain a lot of info. plus i find that poetry books are usually shorter (unless it’s like an anthology or something), so they’re cheaper lol
I always want to read on the Subway, but most book have chapters that are too long. With poetry books I can read one poem at a time and check what station I’m on without ruining the flow. Also poetry is just great.
and accepting that (especially at the very beginning of reading poetry), opens a new horizon to explore as not everything has to necessarily have a deep hidden meaning. also reading poems out loud is great too. happy reading!
the last word i wrote down in my list is maelstrom! i think i have like 100 words written down, some of them repeated without meaning to... i like words a lot and there are many i wish to remember and immortalize. what’s a word you never want to forget?
