I am perpetually trying to recreate/discover Seattle’s KEXP wherever I go and new york’s WFUV is a close approximation. Wide variety of good music, no commercials, chill DJ’s
Like WWOZ, KEXP, etc. The DJ’s, the wide variety of music, listing events, festivals, being plugged in to the local scene. WFUV is playing rain-themed songs right now. so wholesome and rad
Same station, same commitment to independence and community, same IDGAF attitude about corporations, same super eclectic approach to music and content and creators 🖤
KEXP.org anywhere in the world 🌎
I’ve just been listening to a lot of college radio recently, trying to distance myself from Spotify - there’s some great stations with really good programming.
Some faves in no particular order:
91.7 WICB (Ithaca College - linked above)
88.9 WERS (Emerson College)
91.1 WMUA (UMass Amherst)
88.1 WKNC (North Carolina State University)
90.3 KEXP (operated by an affiliate of the University of Washington)
a study issued last month found that dancing is the most effective way of treating and mitigating depression. Walking, therapy, and yoga also outpaced SSRIs. and if you're saying 'oh this was probably funded by Big Dance', there's no evidence of that and if you're saying 'that's just what a Big Dance shill would say', well honey you're right
