I finally watched it this summer, because I wanted to see what all my friends were so invested in lol The show doesn't ask much of you (no secret plot details that demand attention), rewards with lots of funny period dresses, banal drama and charming dialogue. I finished two sweaters this way. Really good show to decompress with.
Watched most, but not all, of it before with my mum. Now rewatching it because the slow period drama genre is soothing. Though I am not soothed rn, I am slightly tormented by the slow burn love story.
Iโm watching Gossip Girl for the first time ever (I know, crazy), and Iโm so in love with it. The characters, the cameos (Kim Gordon? Robyn? Hilary Duff?), the fits...all unmatched. I have three tennis skirts now. I straight up watch it alone in bed and audibly gasp and yell at the characters through my screen. I also have a folder of screenshots for every time they say something ridiculous. Itโs very quotable, the characters are very lovable (and hateable), and the New York/pop culture references are top tier.
Sometimes you try your best and everything seems to hit the fan no matter how much you try, so you take that raincheck and take yourself out for a day.
This is what I call it hahahah made by mums everywhere but the greased up version is sold along stalls in Mumbai. Two regular slices of white bread, buttered, and the middle filling is cream cheese with red onions, coriander/cilantro, tomatoes and some minced chillis. All veggies chopped mini cube size so they blend with the cheese. Toasted crispy.
