A few years ago, having nothing better to do on a Wednesday night, I bought a $30 to go see Modern English. they played an hour of dreamy, dour post-punk. Finally, the singer announced “ok here’s our pop song” and they launched into I Melt With You.
I ran into the drummer after the show and told him how great it was. He just looked at me thru his big black sunglasses (it was 11pm) took a drag of his cigarette and said, “I hope it was loud…”

I have loved blink-182 since I was a tween and will follow them to the moon and back. I’ve seen them in concert many times and love supporting their side projects, listening to their offshoot bands and watching the movies they’ve made (I see you Tom). Last night, my brother and I went to see Mark Hoppus do a performative lecture / interview at The Riv as part of his book tour. I laughed, I cried, I had the best time ever. Can’t wait to crack open his New York Times #1 bestselling book!
All of this is to say, we love what we love. It’s cool growing up and into a musical group, an art form, a community of fellow aging millennial fans.

I have seen Wednesday 3 times since 2021 and saw Hotline TNT at their record release party at TV Eye so I felt like I didn't need to go but now I'm sad I didn't go because its literally the eras tour for indie rock fans rn.

They played a club in town on my 21st birthday and I didn’t go. The club has the show poster on the wall behind the bar so I’m reminded every time I get something to drink!
I saw them do a short set at a barely attended concert on campus earlier in the day, though. They came on after Blink (now known as Blink 182).
