If you were a diehard fan of Bojack Horseman like me, then you'll appreciate the ironic humour and witty, autochthonic sci-fi of Undone. Created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg and Kate Purdy, this show had me on the edge of my seat the entire two sittings that it took to finish watching two seasons.
I had never heard of this and watched it on a whim. I just finished season one and it was a solid 5 stars for me. Itās kinda sci-fi, kinda about grief. Its sort of Horse Girl meets the OA meets Fleabag, but itās Rotoscope animated, so it looks unlike anything else. Canāt believe no oneās ever told me about it!
Mad Men was dominating television and PanAm, another period drama also set in the 60s, was poised to ride their coattails into the sky. It didnāt work out as planned and the result is one of the biggest television train wrecks Iāve ever witnessed. Some scenes are so ridiculous that I had to rewind to confirm that I wasnāt dreaming. Itās not quirky, itās not camp, but secret third thing that I donāt think Iāll ever figure out. Christina Ricci gives a performance that can only be described asā¦frantic. Aside from terrible ratings, Margot Robbieās team is probably responsible for the showās cancellation. She was set to star in Wolf of Wall Street during what wouldāve been PanAmās second season. The two simply could not exist at the same time. Someone said āchoose your fateā and Margot definitely chose the right path. Thank you, Apple TV, for bringing this gem to the streaming universe. I hope some indie theater kids find this show and create a parody that truly highlights how insane PanAm truly was.
Does anyone else miss the feeling of tuning into actual radio waves? I'm so done with Spotify's stupid music rec algorithms. I'd rather listen to some college radio on my baby pink Bluetooth Lexon Tykho
I've found doing these exercises to be extremely useful in both my spiritual as well as my creative practices. Pauline Oliveros described "Deep Listening" asĀ a way of listening in every possible way to everything possible to hear no matter what you are doing. Highly recommend listening to the album on vinyl if you are blessed with the opportunity <3
