AMNESIAC : radiohead truly the better more beautiful sister of Kid A. more experimental, more weird and freaky, more of thom yorke just being a funny guy. i listen to this album front to back at least once a month. my record is 6 times in one day. i was in colorado on the most beautiful hike and i listened to the album during and after, so now i see the mountains when i hear it. TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY : kendrick lamar i don’t listen to kendrick regularly, but this album is LOVELYYYYY it’s so so good and the narrative builds throughout the album so you really gotta sit through the whole thing sometime. For Free? is the best track idc. these walls is a close second. I GOT HEAVEN : mannequin pussy YUM YUM YUMMYYYYYYY. the punk and pop mix is so good it makes me feel like i am so hot and sexy kiss kiss mannequin pussy i love you GIRL WITH FISH : feeble little horse favorite album as of late. it’s so fun and poetic and shoegazy and folky all at once. Steamroller is a banger. HOMEBODY : homebody weird project started by a local ABQ band. show them some love! weird stuff, but it’s really fun. PUSSY WHIPPED : bikini kill probably my all time fav punk album. it was released before Joan Jett reproduced all their stuff so you really get that diy off beat feel. the constant anger throughout and the switch into For Tammy Rae is so fun. i personally love alien she and tammy rae.

I’ve been so obsessed recently. Here are my top song recs, in no particular order, with my favorite lyrical line: -Born to Hum (“I tickled your ear and I laughed in your face”) -The Taste of You (“Just a kiss in the morning, don’t want no guarantees”) -Beautiful - I Guess (“we’re such a lovely mess, hearts lave left a wreck”) -Proof (“love survives, hearts defy, we are proof”) -Sugar in a Pie (“caught in the worst of weather is a lovely pleasure with you”) -Summer School (“and the whole world stopped on that july night, and i prayed for the first time outloud in 17 years of life”) theres much more to discover on your own time. And also worth noting QUEER and also FEMINIST and also SUPER POLITICALLY ACTIVE and also like super cool? They’ve performed with my other fave artists like Anais Mitchell, Ani DiFranco, Andrew Bird,  Ben Sollee, Joan Baez, Lake Street Dive and The Mountain Goats?!? Basically Erin is fucking awesome.

Dirty fingernails
