These will forever remind me of getting ready with my West Side LA Girlies in the mid 2000s on a Friday night, a bedroom strewn with mall clothes and cosmetics, all packing into one black JETTA. As we drive down Sunset Blvd. past the Jesus sculpture in front of our all-girls high school, the burned CD mix oscillates between Ludacris, Felix Da Housecat, and Britney Spears. We are all screaming. We get to house party of some kid in the valley that gets shut down by the cops, and back into the car we go, to a lookout on the bluffs where the city lights twinkle back at us.
Someone’s mom was onto something. To this day these are my favorite underwear. So comfortable and inspiring! When I do my hand wash they hang together like a rainbow mobile sculpture. Every morning to choose a color is to choose a mood, an aura imprimatura.
Hanky Panky was started when Gale Epstein made her best friend Lida Orzek a bra-and-bikini set for her birthday present in 1977 out of embroidered handkerchiefs. Everything is made in the USA and they are a green company. Long wear for a long life. Goddess bless!

My favorite lingerie brand turned into my favorite brand period at this point. I wear their clothes/lingerie for my shows, to go out for lunches with my girlfriends, to shoot for my press photos. I am a loyal customer, I am on their website 4 times per week, I even made a song inspired by how this brand made me feel. At 27 I got dumped in the way that changes your life forever and one way I changed mine was buying full coverage underwear for the first time since I hit puberty. The high rise on these goes right under the belly button and they don’t ride up your ass. I think it’s like $12 for a 6 pack and if Costco ever stops selling them I will organize a die-in.

I am obsessed with this Art Deco Extraordinaire, a Polish-born painter whose glamorous figurative compositions came to life in 1920s-30s Paris. Influenced by Cubism and Neoclassicism, her works—especially her portraits of women—blend beauty, strength, modernity, and a timeless cosmopolitan flair. After leaving Paris, she continued her career in New York, Hollywood, and Mexico. Now on view is her first American retrospective at the de Young Museum in San Francisco until February 9th.

I've been doing a lot of live drawings at shows, this one is of Juvenile and Mannie Fresh when they played at Brooklyn Bowl to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Back That Azz Up." They had a live band with them and the energy was so hype! His son messaged me "My dad love the painting" and got my email so I'm hoping this ends up in his house one day :) Musicians are my main muses. I sell the drawings as fine art prints and because they are ink on paper, the replicas look pretty identical to the OGs. Live drawing is a practice I've devoted myself to out of not having a studio and living out of a storage unit and it's made me brave and remember that MFA degree and Art World aside, art is about curiosity, creativity, openess, innovation, and being present to the beauty in front of you. It is the conscious action to make marks, to trust the ancient technology embeded in our bodies, to allow a picture to reveal itself, and connect to some kind of truth on the daily.
