Birdwatching came to me at a difficult time in my life, and a time where I was trying on lots of different hats to see what matched sobriety. One of those hats was that of someone who takes film photographs. I took this at a park by the sea with my mam, sister and dog. I was throwing bits of my sandwich in the air to try and attract the gulls, snapping away, not really very sure whether I was using the camera properly. I was in awe of myself when this photo came back, I love it. I donโt really take film photos much now โ the hat didnโt fit right and was out of my budget, but this photo helped to develop my love of birdwatching. Now I just take blurry iphone shots through my binoculars, but I still have that awe. I love birds <3
