I am so excited for this movie to hit theaters. I’ve been a fan of Mikey Madison since Better Things and word is she will be getting her Oscar nomination for this role! It won the Palme d'Or at Cannes this year so you KNOW it’s good. It’s also directed by the same person who made Florida Project (a happy-sad cry movie that movie was shot so beautifully)
Mikey Madison is an absolute icon in this beautifully shot film destined to become a modern hot girl classic. Devastatingly memorable, hilarious, and a profound exposition on the struggles of being a bad bitch under late-stage global capitalism. Watch it if only because everyone will be talking about it
It’s beautiful. So much heart to it — Anora is such a real protagonist. While it feels like recently there’s been a trend of movies dealing with class in such a superficial, checklist-y way ( …Saltburn, The Menu…), this is some authentic commentary that actually has something to say.
I love movies and I love board games, so this is perfect for me. The object is to pull two cards and find the shortest way to connect the two actors based on their roles. I think it’s so much fun. Found it when I was at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in LA.
A random find one day that turned into one of my favorite tv shows of all time. It explores relationships, jobs and just becoming an adult and all the real life issues we encounter. Watching every few years I find something new to relate to that I didn’t on the previous watch.
