even the āmidā places are so so great to me. Like itās so fun to customize your own soup. Tonkotsu or miso broth? bok choy or baby corn? Thinly sliced pork belly or shrimp? it doesnāt even really matter itās literally all good. and these places are always packed with people and music and have great drinks. Bring a date or as many friends as possible.
cute, cozy spot with satisfying, inexpensive and tasty onigiri. kind, family oriented service. they constantly have billie eilish and sade bumping. closed sunday and monday (learned the hard way which is a lead-in to my next recc, ācheck maps for hoursā).
in mid december i had the absolute pleasure of enjoying this spicy miso ramen before spending some time at the royal ontario museum (like i do every third tuesday of the month), half-baked ogling at the rocks and minerals exhibit on the third floor. this spot is by no means some hidden gem, but itās rare for me to experience a restaurant that lives up to its praise (looking at you two, fresca and craig's cookies) and i was also pleasantly surprised to see cocktails for under $10! in a cave of mediocre food spots in the yonge/wellesley area, ramen raijin is shiny treasure. they donāt do reservations and the atmosphere discourages campers at tables so operations run smoothly; everything from the demeanour of their staff to the quality of the food radiates excellence⦠i will be returning and tipping generously <3
tomorrow PI.FYI launches to the public this project is the result of thousands of hours spent coding everything from scratch after I got laid off six months ago no thiel-bucks or weirdo outsider money, just a pure desire to make something fun and true to Perfectly Imperfectās day one goal of helping people find new things from real human beings, not algorithms or AI a pure labor of love that Iāve been quietly plotting for two years and itās completely self-funded from my (rapidly) dwindling savings account so thank you for coming along for this weird ride š«¶ let's see where it goes
