ā€˜The Haunting of Hill House’ is perhaps the greatest haunted house story ever. The 1963 film is also gloriously spooky. Everything she wrote is a banger.

I’m still watching them even tho October is over wtf??? I just can’t get enough. Recent greats include: Noroi: The Curse (2005) - Found footage… the climax is so good. Great for fans of ghost/demon stuff. Pulse (2001) - One of my favourite horror movies ever. Worms its way into your being. Some truly terrifying, iconic scenes and imagery, not to mention quite prescient in its message re: online connectivity and society. Really can’t sing its praises enough! Ju-On: The Grudge (2002) - A classic!!! Still hits. Quintessential haunted house domestic strife ghost story. Toshio šŸ˜¢šŸˆā€ā¬› Audition (1999) - Probably my least favourite of this batch. Not for the squeamish. Still worth a watch if only for its feminist social commentary. GonJiam: Haunted Asylum (2018) - OK this one is admittedly kinda hokey but it’s based off a REAL location and the jump scares are amazing!! Some truly spine-tingling moments. Not recommended just before bed lol 😬 (Also found footage)

I tell people allll the time this is the best 1970s sweeping horror epic about evil in a small town. Think Salem’s Lot but with a more verbose and literary style. Great entry point into modern gothic and classic gothic horror. Such a cozy vibe I find myself rereading it sometimes in winter!! You’ll enjoy it if you like Joyce Carol Oates’s work. The movie is awful and I wish they would rework this into a modern adaptation… perhaps a television series since thereā€˜s so much material

It sucks for a long time and then it doesn’t suck quite so bad and you just keep doing it. I don’t know why I like it so much but I do.

I’ve been volunteering at a Victorian cemetery since 2016. We plant era-appropriate flowers and plants in the grave of people who have been dead for 100-200 years. It’s such a peaceful, meaningful way to remember the long dead and interact with nature. also I’m certain I have ghost friends who are coming through for me on the astral plane.

just did hot yoga for the first time since Before. It’s so hard. I sweat so much I couldn’t see for like 40 minutes. I feel elated and strange like how I imagine the medieval catholic mystics felt.
