i've found that volunteering can be a really wonderful way to find community and make a positive change and you can choose an issue that you're passionate about - i know that some organizations have age requirements but there are a lot that don't!

be it feeding people, youth outreach, helping people move, the library, community gardensā¦the possibilities are endless and of course vary. i volunteer for the art program offered by a shelter near me so itās possible to balance any interests of yours with doing good! take the time to research opportunities that speak to you.
some other helpful ideas: pick a grassroots organization you really resonate with and donate/promote as regularly as you can...read tricky things and have those tricky conversations...learn a domestic or community building skill such as sewing...
best of luck and donāt get too wrapped up in the āsizeā of the impact of your actions, because a little help is better than none :)

The key to this is finding something sustainable. Youāll quickly discover that all the organizations near your area have the same group of people volunteering. Once you have friends and itās somewhere walking distanceā¦ Itās easy to show up

I'd suggest volunteering somewhere that is aligned with your values. You'll do good, experience a measure of personal satisfaction, and meet good people.
Maybe the friends you make won't be of similar age and life stage as you, but their genuine friendships will place you in circles that lead to other connections.

I made this card for my best friendās birthday and Iām very proud of it - I drew things that remind me of her like her cats and her fav movie as well as photos of some of my fav memories together - it took so long because there were so many tiny pieces of paper to cut out but I just put on a movie and in the background and had fun crafting which was actually very relaxing
