Critiquing all aspects of beauty culture, written by someone who used to work for the Kardashians and then various fashion/beauty outlets. Very well written and thought provoking! Also she has a podcast called "The Review of Mess" with Emily Kirkpatrick of I <3 Mess (another great substack)

I cannot recommend "the review of beauty" by jessica defino enough

It's a substack critiquing all things beauty culture in a very thorough, science-based, no-bullshit way. I've never even been a part of beauty culture like that and I still learn things with every article she posts! Once you start seeing the marketing tactics for what they are, it's really easy to let any societal expectations go.
