My sister is training to be an acupuncturist so I’ve been learning  about it. I don’t think I took it seriously before but I’m changing my mind  (it’s over 2000 years old!) . It also has a really interesting recent  history in the US  with rehabilitation and addicts. Theres a documentary called. “Dope Is Death” which explains it really well.  If you’re interested but its too £$ try looking for students that are running open or practice clinics in your area.

Truly a game changer for my fellow chronic pain sufferers.

I love my naturopath so much — I literally cried in front of her and then she did acupuncture on my sinuses because I’ve been wanting to rip them out of my face due to the pain they’re causing me. I have no idea if it’s a placebo effect or what but I can tell you there was quite literally heat coming out of the sinus points she did. I think I feel better, even just seeing her makes me feel better.

The only thing that has helped me feel like a human being after touring. Especially cause I got hypothyroid and my shit is constantly out of whack regardless of the insanity that is “the road”. I like that it ties in emotional and physical pain so deeply, cause I got both of em (who doesn’t).

I came across the Nap Ministry via a podcast. I really believe in their ethos of “ rest as a form of resistance because it disrupts and pushes back against capitalism and white supremacy.” It’s recontextualising rest for me slowly. Another quote that sums it up perfectly - “ how will you be useless to capitalism today?” - Brontë Velez . really makes me think about how I want to live my life.

I’ve been going for morning walks when possible in this overgrown cemetery close to me. It’s very peaceful and I can hear birds chirping.. It feels like a very necessary city detox. If I’m feeling stressed or anxious being amongst all the gravestones helps put things in perspective!

Just like a small little set. Gouache is good because it dries really fast and you don’t need much water. If i have space for a laptop i have space for paints.Feel so much happier when i look back through my notebook and there's colours instead of weird sentences :)
