Greatest Funk Album
Sly & The Family Stone consciously broke down limiting and arbitrary barriers that dominated music prior to the mid-1960’s. The band was black and white, men and women, playing a deliriously infectious brand of rock, soul, pop and funk.
for funk you have to go back to the 70s. I would start with these three essentials: - maggot brain by funkadelic
- mothership connection by parliament
- there’s a riot going on by sly and the family stone
slowly becoming a fav album of mine, so murky and groovy! mostlt gravitate towards the busier funk stuff, but the airy synth (?) tone on TIME is unbeatable
