454 is already one of the most interesting artist at the moment and he has been producing for years and years but this new mixtape he put out on SoundCloud is genuine album of the year potential for me its so fun and mostly self produced which is crazy because the samples are from everything and everywhere and its just a perfect project, PLEASE do yourself a favor and listen
most recent example is the album jazz punk by rimera: i found this british kid on instagram and i liked the album cover art so i gave it a listen and i love it so much!!
i can hear the influence from tyler the creator, jpegmafia, and pharrell williams
he combines so many of their sounds while also having his own elements in it and lots of breakbeat its so awesome highly recommend!
my favorite is springfield anyways shoutout recognizing sounds and and samples and styles its so cool everything is goated
i could write for years about this album being the peak of sophistipop greatness. but i’ll leave you with just two things. one:
this man recruited RYUICHI SAKAMOTO to produce this and produce this he fuckin did. two:
roddy frame had this to say about the process aside from Sakamoto being a genius:
“Frame says his days there rapidly fell into a pattern. Into the studio in the early afternoon; out again at around 2am; straight across to a deli off Time Square for a turkey sandwich ('because it was possible to get one at two in the morning, and for no other reason'); a cab-ride back to the Mayflower; an hour or so listening to Shabba Ranks on a ghetto-blaster; bed.” LISTEN NOW.
Peaches, plums, nectarines, cherries, etc. It’s mind blowing that something so nice can be naturally occurring Just beautiful fruits (look at these plums) and just so delicious even when they’re not technically in season I could (and do) eat five peaches a day Also peach cobbler! Haven’t heard of it but need to try plum cobbler I feel like that’d be crazy
I got a humidifier at target cause it’s getting dry and that’s something I would typically overlook but for some reason I remembered the spongebob humidifier my parents used to always put in my room and I thought about how many things just for like comfort or health that I stopped doing that were just like everyday things my parents did when I was a kid
for the most part every movie I see, book I read, meal I eat, album I listen to, place I travel to is the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced (Maybe it just means I’m easy to please but I don’t mind because it leads to many enjoyable experiences!)
