Not much of a podcast guy, but this one sounded too good: ā€œthe true story behind the groundbreaking 1972 study ā€˜The Limits to Growth’, and why the world ignored its message.ā€ Basically, these researchers developed a computer model in 1972 that said unless significant changes to our daily lives were made, humans were going to overpopulate the planet and start seeing horrific resource scarcity within 30-40 years. They were ignored and called kooks, but like… look around you. Haven’t started it yet, but it’s open on my computer so I don’t forget the title!

Diving into a seemingly mundane topic but turns out the history and/or impact of it is way more than you’d expect. Definitely fits your request the best out of the podcasts I know. Honorable mentions: Ologies(oops you mentioned this already lol) Weirdest Thing I Learned This Week You’re Wrong About

rec’ing something I discovered via a rec (thank you Shadowbeni) It’s great for curious people, and the sound design is awesome. They explore…everything. I listened to these two today (1 and 2) and I can’t wait for more.

(minor spoilers, I guess?) a few long take bangers in this film, but the battle scene near the end is so goddamn good. follow Clive Owen and the pregnant young woman in his care as they get caught in a skirmish between two warring factions. Cuarón is the best.
