Imagine this: You and your best friend are at the bottom of the ninth, and he’s kicking your ass by 3 points. It’s 1:30am in real time, but it’s all sunshine at Wario City. You are at bat with an underdog, Purple Toad. His career, his team, and this game rest on his shoulders. With just two outs and bases loaded, Purple Toad needs a Grand Slam, or its game over. With only one swing, he sends it out of the park in what could be the most historic grand slam ever witnessed. No other video game exist where this is possible, and I’m happy its this one.
the greatest racing game of all time, brought to you by amusement vision (monkey ball devs) at their absolute peak. no game in the 22 years since has captured as exhilarating sense of speed while maintaining such tight and responsive controls. i’ve been playing it non-stop this past week and have just been absolutely gobsmacked at how amazing it is. every person i’ve seen who tries it falls in love with its positively radioactive level of swag within 30 seconds. i get why that guy bought 40 grand of nintendo stock just to ask them about f-zero now
