very fun!!! for some reason i thought they were called kinder eggs? anyway i canât believe theyâre banned in the US. look at how cute this little guy is
hana_u yes :( what the other comment said! thereâs a ban on plastic/non-food items being inside sweets bc of the choking hazard, and even though the inside capsule of the surprise eggs is really big it still counts. you can even get in trouble for âsmugglingâ them across the border which is wild lol
This band is called the Siesta Singers. I collected them from the insides of chocolate eggs from 2004-2005, but lost contact with them in the years since. Recently, I decided to track them down and found they could be sent to my door for a reasonable ÂŁ6.20. I canât tell if they are exactly the same guys, but they still play in time when you press down on their hats. I heartily recommend reconnecting with old gizmos and friends. -Luke
I just rediscovered this joy the other day, and I spent the day driving around & listening to my favorite music while hunting these down at various stores. I definitely recommend engaging with a childhood interest again if you can; it brought me such a pure and simple form of joy that I haven't felt in a while. I guess I thought I was too old to be doing this and that I had to spend my money on practical stuff, but then I remembered we're all just here on the planet to have fun. Any sort of little mission I can go on with an objective to locate something is always fun to me as well. I felt like I was on a quest to various Targets & Walmarts. People online have also cracked the product codes so you CAN figure out which pet you're getting if you don't want to waste your money, but the surprise is super fun as well. They're super cheap, like $3-$4 a piece. The search for them was the most fun part, but looking at them on my windowsill is also very cute.
being traditionally cool is really quite boring and iterative, and itâs actually very cool and sexy to geek out about something you like or share bits of knowledge on a topic youâre passionate about
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WORKERâS DAY!!!! i love having a union, i love being a union steward and getting to support my unit. when my union won its contract, i got a pay bump, better benefits, and increased protection as a worker. đ„ł
unions help address racial and gender pay gaps, issues workplaces impose on families and those having kids, addressing unsafe conditions, plus things like better health insurance, wages and overtime, weingarten rights to representation, and more!!!
if you donât have a union but are thinking about forming one, check out AFL-CIOâs page (linked) or Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee. thereâs always more power in a union!! âđ„đč
they have FREE SHIPPING through Friday (7/8-7/11)
if you are thinking about buying a book online this week, please buy a book there instead of evil amazon dot com. bookshop benefits local indie bookstores! you also can pick which specific bookstore to support and they have many lgbt-, women-, and bipoc-owned shops listed :)
also they now have ebooks and many are on sale, such as Octavia Butlerâs Parable of the Sower + Talents, Margaret Atwoodâs The Testaments, or Talia Lavinâs Wild Faith for under $3 (!) each
